If you’re visiting the Mpumalanga province, don’t miss the opportunity to go caving at the Sudwala Caves, the oldest known caves in the world. You don’t need to be an expert caver or athlete, all you need are your legs and a sense of wonder.
You’ll venture 600m into the caves and travel 150m underground. As you begin the one-hour long guided Cave Tour on foot, your guide will tell you about the fascinating history and geology of the caves. You will marvel at the amazing rock formations which include the Lowveld Rocket, the oldest formation, and screaming monster, before entering the great hall, the largest cavern standing 70m in diameter and 37m high.
Adventurous and don’t mind getting wet? Then opt for the 5-hour Crystal Cave Tour. You must be over 16, have average agility and not suffer from claustrophobia or any serious health problems. Then walk, scramble, wriggle and climb around the oldest caves in the world and into the crystal chambers which were formed under water millions of years ago – now that’s something to write home about.
Just want to relax? Then gaze out over the picturesque valley and let the Garra Rufa medical fish, nibble away at the dead skin on your feet. As a bonus, in the process, acupuncture points on the soles of the feet are stimulated, and blood circulation improved leaving your feet smooth and your soul invigorated.
Bring us your receipt from Sudwala and we will give you 15% discount!
